One way students fulfill their FYE requirement is through participation in a first year seminar.
Approximately half of the first year students enroll in First Year Seminars as their FYE. First Year Seminars are courses that are discipline-specific for incoming majors to introduce students to the expectations of an academic major or career. This may differ from the intro courses (3-4 credits) in the major. Students in the First Year Seminars live together in designated residence halls based on major or area of academic interest.
